Book Review for Survivor’s Guilt by @robyngigl @KensingtonBooks

This book was an interesting and unique read. I’ve never read a book with a transgender female lead. The reason I even mention this is because it’s a demoinate factor in the book.

Erin McCabe, formerly Ian, is a successful defense attorney who owns a law firm with her partner, Duane Swisher. He’s married with a child and former FBI, whose background comes in rather handy as the book goes on. But to back up, there’s are a few stands to this legal thriller that the author expertly weaves together.

Not far in there’s a murder, and while a recording at the scene makes it seem an easy close for investigating detectives, it turns out to be far more complicated. Thankfully, one detective has a hunch that not everything is as it seems and gets Erin involved from a lawyer’s standpoint. But will she be able to uncover a way to free her client from facing life in prison? After all, the evidence against her is damning.

Survivor’s Guilt is a page-turning thriller that takes on difficult topics and conquers them. I can recommend it.
